EUSR Safety Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) suite of schemes have been developed in collaboration with industry to provide a uniform approach to health, safety and environmental awareness training across the utilities sector, in line with Health and Safety Executive guidelines.

Introduction

The SHEA Schemes are 1-day day Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness training for those working on operational sites.
A CSCS Alliance scheme.

It is developed in collaboration with employers and key stakeholders from across the industries in our sector, so the content is relevant – all helping to improve the safety of the workforce and reduce costs associated with injury, illness or accidents.

Assessment criteria

Each SHEA training courses consists of 6 generic modules and 2 specific modules that can be added dependent on scheme.

Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities
Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment
Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks
Module 4: Common hazards and controls in the workplace
Module 5: Occupational health hazards
Module 6: Responding to emergencies

Module 7: Power generation, transmission and distribution (Power)
Module 8: Power industry hazards (Power)
Module 14: Highway working and excavations (Gas)
Module 15: Pressure regulating installations (Gas)
Module 16: Safety in premises (Gas)
Module 17: Working safely underground, in the highway and overhead (Telecoms)
Module 20: Clean and wastewater operations (water)
Module 21: Highway working and excavations (water)

Delivery

For the initial SHEA EUSR schemes, there are two routes:

Full Day – Face to face training delivery in a classroom and paper-based assessment
Full Day – Remote training delivery via an e-Classroom and remote assessment

 

Assessment

SHEA assessments (tests) are multiple choice and structured so that there is an assessment per module. They can be taken one module at a time, or all together at the same time.

Reminder: It is a specific condition for all CSCS Partner Card Schemes that assessments are invigilated. Invigilation of assessments will ensure the results are authentic and reliable, and mitigate the risk of identity fraud, cheating or collusion.

Registration on EUSR

SHEA EUSR registration is valid for three years.

Renewal of SHEA EUSR registration

For the renewal of SHEA EUSR schemes there are several routes:

Full Day – Face to face training delivery in a classroom and paper-based assessment
Full Day – Remote training delivery via an e-Classroom and either remote assessment or e-assessment
Half Day – Face to face training delivery in a classroom and paper-based assessment
Half Day – Remote training delivery via an e-classroom using and either remote assessment or e-assessment
