About the scheme

The Utility Excavations scheme is an Energy & Utility Skills skills-based scheme designed for those individuals working in excavation and excavation-related roles who need relevant training and assessment in order to ensure safe and effective excavation practice.

This 1-day course is for those persons who are required to:


  • Interpret utility service drawings and line search documentation
  • Use location equipment to identify underground services
  •  Identify the dangers associated with underground services


This course is split into both theory and practical elements and all delegates will be required to successfully complete both parts.  Endorsed by Energy & Utility Skills register on successful completion of the course you will be provided with a EUSR card valid for 3 years.
